Land as a limited natural resource with a cultural significant has historically been contested in Mount Elgon area in Kenya. The Bukusu and Sabaot who predominantly inhabits the area remains the main protagonist of these age old land contests. The view was not to re-invent the wheel but to give a historicity of this phenomenon that has escaped the attention of many scholars.
