Autorenporträt
Dr Efthimia Bilissi studied Photography at the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens, Greece. From 1993 to 1998 she worked as chief editor and technical author in photographic magazines and published several technical articles in photography. She gained her MSc in Digital Imaging in 1999 and her PhD in imaging science in 2004, both from the University of Westminster. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in imaging science at the University of Westminster, and she specialises in imaging systems, colour science and technical photography. For her research work she received the Royal Photographic Society's Selwyn Award in 2004. She is an Associate member (ARPS) and Accredited Imaging Scientist (AIS) of the RPS. Her work has been presented at many national and international symposia and has been published in related journals. Efthimia is the editor and co-author of 'Langford's Advanced Photography', 7th and 8th editions and a contributing author of the 'Manual of Photography and Digital Imaging', 10th edition, both published by Focal Press in 2011. Elizabeth Allen is course leader of the BSc Photography and Digital Imaging Technologies. She is a Principal Lecturer and specialises in digital imaging systems and processes and image quality. She is currently studying for a PhD in Imaging Science. She is also co-editor and contributor to the 10th edition of the Manual of Photography and a contributing author of the 8th edition of Langford's Advanced Photography. She has contributed to many symposia and is currently publishing her work in related journals. Andy Golding is Head of the Department of Photography and Film. He teaches photography on both the BA and MA courses. His focus is on lighting, studio and city based subjects and he has collaborated on many national and international photographic projects. He is involved in a number of initiatives in China. He contributes to the Royal Photographic Society Journal, to Langford's Advanced Photography and is writing chapters on Photographic History and Teaching and Learning for a forthcoming publication. Dr. Sophie Triantaphillidou is a principal lecturer in Imaging, the Leader of the University's Imaging Technology Research Group and the Course Leader of the BSc (Hons) Clinical Photography. Sophie is a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and serves as UK representative in various international programme conference committees related to Imaging Science. She has contributed to several technical photography books and is one of the main authors and co-editor of the last edition of the classical textbook Manual of Photography, published by Focal Press in 2010, which encompasses the transition from analogue to digital imaging
