Autorenporträt
Dr. phil. habil. Harald Haarmann, geb. 1946, studierte Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft und verschiedene philologische Einzeldisziplinen an den Universitäten Hamburg, Bonn, Coimbra (Portugal) und Bangor (Wales). Er lehrte und forschte an verschiedenen deutschen und japanischen Universitäten. Er ist Mitglied im Forscherteam des Research Centre on Multilingualism (Brüssel). Für seine Arbeit erhielt er diverse Preise: Prix logos (1999) der Association européenne des linguistes et des professeurs de langues (Paris) und den Premio Jean Monnet (1999) im Bereich Essayliteratur. Harald Haarmann lebt und arbeitet in Finnland.
