The purpose of this study was assessing the content validity of English language teacher made tests. It was conducted at Dessie Catholic General Secondary and Preparatory School focusing on grade eleven. To conduct this study, the researches employed descriptive research design with mixed method approach. The sources of data for the study were grade 11 English textbook, four years' grade 11 sample test papers and EFL teachers. The textbook, the sample test papers and EFL teachers were selected through comprehensive sampling technique. In order to gather the required data, document analysis, semi-structured interview and focus group discussion were used. The data gathered through all the instruments were analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively. To analyse the quantitative data, percentage and value of correlation were calculated, and the data gained from the interview and focus group discussion were analysed qualitatively through narration and thematic descriptions.

Both researchers had been working in the same high school and teaching the same subject matters: English Language and Aptitude for high school students. Currently Seid Mohammed is working as Customer Service Manager at Awash Bank-Ethiopia, On the other hand Tesfaye Berehanu has been working as a Lecturer at Lakomelza College.
