O Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Shnawa obteve o seu doutoramento em 1996. O seu interesse é a imunologia da infecção microbiana no homem e nos animais. Ele ensina imunologia para estudantes de graduação e pós-graduação na Universidade da Babilónia durante 20 anos e cinco anos na Universidade de Qasim. Publicou 110 artigos científicos e um livro Essays In Vaccinology, 2018.
