The main aim of the book is to study the influence of laser irradiation on Sb30S40Se30 chalcogenide material. These materials are important photo conductive semiconductors for important applications in diverse areas such as solar energy conversion, thermoelectric cooling, photo detector technology, power generation, and opto-electronics in the near-infrared region. Photo induced changes in amorphous chalcogenides are an object of systematic investigations with a view to better understanding the mechanisms of the phenomena taking place in them as well as their practical applications. When these films are irradiated with high energy particles or light, bond breaking and bond rearrangement takes place which results in the change in the local structure of the glassy materials. These light induced changes are well favoured in chalcogenide materials due to their structural flexibility (low coordination of chalcogen) and also due to their high lying lone pair p states in their valence bands. The book consists of five chapters which describes the preparation of the samples and the characterization techniques which brings the result with discussion and references are given at the end.
