Trypanosomosis, a haemoprotozoan disease, causes a serious condition in variety of domestic and wild animals known as 'surra'. Trypanosoma evansi which is a vector transmitted most pathogenic trypanosome affecting wide range of host which is globally distributed. Animal trypanosomosis presents special problems with regard to its definitive diagnosis. Though trypanosomes have been studied more than a hundred years, there is still a dearth in accurate diagnostic tests with high sensitivity and specificity. The conventional diagnostic methods are no longer sensitive missing more than 80% of the infection. This book, therefore, provides a new horizon in the field of advanced diagnosis to detect trypanosomosis which is rapid, cost effective and field adaptable.
