A lattice steel pylon is usually assembled from individual parts at the place where it is to be erected. This makes very high pylons possible. In addition, the assembly of lattice steel pylons can be done using a crane, often with some kind of pulley. Lattice steel pylons generally consist of angle-profiled steel beams. Tubing lattice constructions are rare in Germany. For very high lattice steel pylons, in particular for the lower parts, trusses are often used. Lattice steel pylons can be dismantled if necessary and be rebuilt at a new location, but in practice this is only possible with pylons which are in good condition.
