An Examination of the Employer's Right to Withhold Employee Pension Benefit in South Africa The sole aim of a Fund is to give assistance to the employees to save for their retirement. An employee becomes a member of the Fund, usually when the employer requires or allows it, and the employee is then a member of the Fund, which is a legal entity separate from the employer, and also regulated by a completely different set of laws than the employer.
