This paper addresses the principles and sources of laws of land warfare. The author discusses assumptions, the forces, hostilities, spying and war treason, prisoners of war, the sick/wounded/dead, martial law, military government, military occupation, neutrality, and penalties for violations of the laws of land warfare. Annexes A-F include directives, the Hague and Geneva Conventions, prohibitions and restrictions of acts or instruments of land warfare, capitulations and armistices, and the trend toward modification of the laws of land warfare.
