ANTONIO J. WARING (1915-64) was a pediatrician and nonprofessional archaeologist of prehistoric southeastern Georgia. His research and publications on subjects such as the Southeastern Ceremonial Complex continue to inform Georgia archeologists. The archaeological laboratory at the University of West Georgia was named after him in 1992. SARAH DEER (Muscogee [Creek] Nation) is a University Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas and chief justice for the Prairie Island Indian Community Court of Appeals. In addition to coauthoring four textbooks on tribal law, she is the author of The Beginning and End of Rape: Confronting Sexual Violence in Native America.
