Traditional approach to measuring project success mostly centered on hard skills employing systemic laid down technical compliances within the constraint of cost, quality, time, and risk. These developments have received sharp criticisms from contemporary researchers advocating for the need to include project management soft skills with priority given to leadership competencies to complement project management hard skills. Recent studies on leadership and project management mostly focused on single leadership competencies. This book seeks to bridge the existing knowledge gaps by providing new knowledge areas on integrated leadership competencies required in achieving projects success. Five themes and twenty subthemes were identified as leadership competencies required for managing international development projects. The new theories provided in this book on leadership competencies and projects success will be useful to project managers, monitoring and evaluation officers, projectofficers and researchers working on development projects across the globe. The book will also be essential to project management students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
