Leaders' self-awareness and self-reflection skills proved to play a relevant role when it comes to organizational performance. Especially in dynamic and challenging situations, emotional intelligence can add value to decision making and efficiency of a leader. Through a qualitative study, the perceived relevance as well as possible organizational initiatives for developing self-awareness and self-reflection are explored. The study shows that several actions can be taken to foster skill development among leaders. Modifications of organizational conditions and organizational culture as well as the adjustment of leadership development programs to individual needs turned out to be impactful. Overall, this book contributes especially to the positive influences of leadership skills, which are of increasing importance in today's fast changing and challenging world of leadership expectations.
