Being a manager in an educational institution means having the reins of success in your hands or running the risk of letting go without reaching the goal, it means carrying out actions that lead you to be an alternative within the community to improve the quality of life of the students on whom you have an impact. Documenting the work of a successful school administrator represents an arduous but necessary research work to recognize the characteristics and practices of successful school administrators, to know their profile, their professional competencies and how much the context influences or not to achieve success. A fundamental part of this research was the selection of the ideal principal to answer the question posed. Therefore, the function of a principal represents an important advance in education since, as an educational leader, he/she must use his/her knowledge to promote the efficiency of the teacher, the adequate execution of educational programs, the timely diagnosisof problems that arise, the evaluation and the optimal development of the educational project of the institution he/she directs.
