There are many definitions of leadership as found in many studies. However, a large number of studies on leadership have been undertaken reflecting Western cultural values. As a result, studies on leadership, which reflect non-Western cultural values have been lacking. As the notion of leadership is perceived differently in different cultural settings, there is a need to study leadership reflecting various cultural values. Therefore, this book identifies how some lecturers in Indonesian universities perceive the notions of leadership. The book also discusses their perceptions on 'effective' leadership attributes for Indonesian educational institutions, especially types of leadership in higher education.
