Exercising within a group has been acknowledged to have a positiveinfluence on an individual's physical activity adherence. Various stylesof instructional leadership have also played an integral role in long termgroup fitness participation.This study takes an ethnomethodological approach in examining theinfluence of both group exercise and leadership within the culture offitness.Four styles of leadership are considered with a strong focus on thepositive influences of transformational leadership on the exerciseenjoyment and adherence of novice participants.
