The Growth of hospitals in Indonesia is very fast. The annual growth of private hospitals are 45%, while the government hospitals are 5%. Moreover, the growth of inpatient beds of private hospitals are 49% and 24% for government hospitals. Hospital is currently ogled by many domestic and foreign investors. Several reasons including; chances of profit margin is high (30%), a very large population, bonus demographic, infrastructure is minimal and everyone needs healthcare. Nevertheless, Hospitals in Indonesia are now faced with a problem of efficiency, effectivity and productivity. These challenges require appropriate measurements. This is in line with the objective of managerial economics. One of the efforts of managerial economics applied in hospitals is LEAN. The implementation of a comprehensive LEAN will be able to solve the problem of efficiency, effectivity and productivity are mostly found in Indonesia's hospitals. That is because the LEAN combines Economics Sciences, Hospital Administration Management, Quality Management, Human Resources Management and Strategic Management.
