She has a PhD in the relationship between writing and wellbeing, and is the founder of the International Wellbeing-through-writing Institute. Stephanie is a passionate advocate for writing as an expressway to health and empowerment. She leads transformative writing programs and retreats globally, inspiring women to harness the genius of writing for courage, connection, recovery and growth. In 2014, Stephanie founded The Write Road, a writing for wellbeing initiative for rural and remote Australians, including newly literate Indigenous adults and outback communities in recovery from drought, fire and flood. Combining her passions for writing and pilgrimage, she also runs the pilgrim initiative Walk & Write Camino.Stephanie is the author of three books: the recently published journaling guidebook Write Your Way Home, the award-winning novel Hymn for the Wounded Man, and the travel memoir, My Pilgrim's Heart.She has a professional background that ranges over 35 years in media, politics, publishing and academia.
