The daily lives of learners are both challenging and complex as they are expected to engage in activities, learn, educate themselves and meet intellectual competency standards. From this perspective, the starting point for understanding learners' success is motivation, which is the energy and persistence in carrying out learning activities. Within this framework and given the importance of motivation in the learning process, we will seek to answer the following question: What motivates learning? We will first try to decipher the nature of the learners' motivation and identify those who are in difficulty, in order to provide them with adequate assistance and evaluate the cognitive and motivational effect of the pedagogical interventions.
