There is no uniform understanding of women's and gender education. From today's perspective of educational science, the fact is that more than three quarters of the students are female. Looking at other countries, gender studies are often interdisciplinary and have a participation of educational science. Gender studies show the importance of social gender in the theoretical discussion. It is about gender identity, socialization instances, fields of work and gender relations. From the author's point of view, school pedagogy, adult pedagogy and teacher training are particularly suitable for imparting qualifications. In terms of university didactics, interdisciplinary teaching and women's and gender studies in the context of civic education should be given more attention.
