The purpose of this study was to analyze and integrate the concepts surrounding the formation of a learning community, both in the educational and organizational sectors. A documentary analysis based on conceptual mapping was carried out. The main result of this study was the need to raise awareness of the importance of this socio-training tool in the creation of knowledge societies, since its implementation carries out a series of procedures (methodology) that forms the group into a team or a learning community, at the same time as it creates a culture; the participatory form of this tool minimizes the gap of social inequalities, to form a more integral community that will achieve objectives and contribute to an improvement in the quality of life of its members and the community to which they belong, thus contributing to sustainable development.
