From the heartbreak of losing his wife through serious illness to navigating the difficult road of single parenting, Stewart's life continued to unfold in a series of unexpected and painful experiences. From fires, accidents, and serious health issues, his decision, that no matter what happened, he would turn to God and not from Him, became the guiding principle that got him through the darkest of nights. This is a raw and vulnerable account of what it was like to walk through dark valleys and cope with prayers that felt like they were met with a deafening silence. Stewart's story deals with navigating his own struggles while helping his children through theirs and explores the disappointment of hopes that were dashed. With a refreshing honesty, this story resonates with those facing their own struggles, doubts, and wrestles with God. Learning to Dance in the Darkness doesn't try to explain away the darkness but reveals the deep things that can be discovered when you trust God and keep turning to him. It's a message of resilience, and an invitation to discover hope in unexpected places.
Autorenporträt
Stewart has a passion for people, the gospel, and social change, which has been expressed in his career as a teacher, entrepreneur, and leader of several 'for-purpose' ventures. His leadership experiences have included being Principal and National Director of a Bible School and discipleship ministry, co-founder of a children's publishing and resource company and then starting and serving as Executive Director of Australians Together-an organisation dedicated to bringing Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians together. Stewart is a first-time author, but he's always loved words and used writing to process, reflect, and share ideas with others. Drawing on his experiences in life and leadership, he hopes to provide inspiration and encouragement to readers through his writing. When he's not writing or sharing with others, Stewart loves to travel, ride his bike, journal at cafes, and spend time with his family in Adelaide, South Australia.
