Where do I start? What do I look for? How do I progress? How do I know when I should stop? These questions are among the most common that have been asked regarding counseling. The thought that many have regarding counseling is that they are unqualified and need to appeal to someone they consider an expert. The appeal is better made to the Creator. From the very beginning of the Bible, we see God's interaction with people and the process that He took to deal with the issues people encounter in this life. In "Learning to live the Gospel", Dr. Carter lays out God's counseling process in a direct way that we can follow. This book also explores a deep understanding of the composition of man so that the counselor can see men as God sees them. In all of this, however, Dr. Carter reminds us that there is only one true Counselor, and it is our job to direct people to Him and His counsel. God's Word gives us all things that pertain to life and godliness. You don't have to know everything to lead others to the One who does. This book will help you learn how to do just that.
