It all began with a letter I received the year after the opening of Augustinian Academy, a new high school in St. Louis, Missouri. When this letter came, I was principal at Mendel Catholic High School in Chicago, Illinois. I had been brought back to Chicago where I began my teaching ministry in 1953 as a young priest.
