Chronic ischemic functional mitral insufficiency (CFMI) is a serious complication of coronary artery disease. It is a mitral insufficiency related to ischemic damage to the left ventricle, most often occurring after an MI, when the mitral valves are structurally normal. It is then secondary to a remodelling of the VG associating annular dilatation, misalignment of the pillars by spherisation of the ventricular cavity and restriction of the two mitral leaflets, often more marked at the level of the posterior leaflet. It is above all a "ventriculopathy" rather than a true valvulopathy. Its…mehr

Its prevalence in the literature varies between 1.6% and 74% of MDIs.The aim of this work is to use echocardiographic parameters to study the influence of global and regional remodelling of the left ventricle (LV) in the occurrence of IMIF.
