The work addresses the role that legal hermeneutics plays for the legal professional in the current political-legal context, considering the intense social dynamics caused by factors of the most varied categories of which stand out, the economic, technological and political. Initially, there is a brief study on the concept of legal hermeneutics and its historical evolution. Afterwards, the profile of the legal professional is studied in the context in which it is inserted today and, later, a study is developed around the role that legal hermeneutics plays and can play for the legal professional in the Democratic State of Law. The main result was the clarification of the necessary role of legal hermeneutics in support of the purposes of law. In this way, the research carried out here can contribute to the consolidation and advancement of the readers' knowledge by understanding the effective role and potential that legal hermeneutics confers on the legal professional in the Democratic State of Law.
