A nationally recognized expert, Bob Weiss has written firm and practice group marketing plans, coached lawyers, developed law firm retreats, and conducted training, client interviews and surveys for local, regional and national firms. His clients include firms involved in mass torts, catastrophic accident cases, corporate and transactional law and defense litigation. He also represents niche firms practicing domestic, election, criminal, immigration, insurance recovery and bad faith law. Major presentations he has made include addressing litigation publicity management, ethics, and extending the attorney-client privilege to talks with public relations personnel at the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association, and presenting research on how to attract higher-value personal injury cases at the Annual Convention of the American Association for Justice. He has lectured on business development at meetings of domestic and international law firm networks and to numerous chapters of the Association of Legal Administrators. Since 1996, his firm, Alyn-Weiss & Associates, has published an often-cited national marketing effectiveness survey. It measures expenditures and identifies the most effective tactics employed by corporate/transactional and defense groups. Bob has been professionally involved in many major news stories and resulting litigation. This includes representing interests and targets in public policy disputes, grand jury investigations, Wall Street Ponzi schemes, the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, MBS litigation, JonBenet Ramsey murder, the Columbine High School massacre and several athlete recruiting sex scandals.
