This paper seeks to carry out an analysis and study of the new European regulatory framework relating to drones for civilian use, developed from the Basic Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2018. An analysis carried out from the recent historical context of technology, doctrine and case law established on the figure of the drone. It deals with the evolution of the regulations in recent years at national and European level, its standardization process and its adaptation to the already existing regulations of other branches of law, such as the Data Protection Act.
