The present study is useful to understand the concept of youth, leisure and recreation and its definitions, types and classifications. Further, the study analyses the leisure and recreation patterns of youth in terms of solitary, intimate, group and mass leisure time activities and their preferences.

Dr.C. Devendiran has been teaching Social Work and Youth Development since 1999. Currently, he is serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work, Mizoram (Central) University, Aizawl, India. His research areas cover Youth, Life skills, Lifestyle, Leisure and Recreation. He is interested in training youth in personality development.
