This book defines the challenges to be met and the conditions to be met for the election to be the foundation of democratic legitimacy to enable elected leaders to enjoy the acceptance of the people, the source of all power. It has two parts. The first addresses the crisis of legitimacy of leaders in the DRC, by analyzing the causes of the said crisis of legitimacy (Chapter I) to determine the consequences (Chapter II). The second part examines the Congolese presidential election of December 30, 2018 in the face of the challenge of the legitimacy crisis, starting from the lessons learned from the said election (Chapter I), up to meeting the challenges of democratic elections and offering some perspectives. future (Chapter II).
