At one time Dundee had more cinema seats per head of population than any other city in the UK. Almost every neighbourhood in the city had its own cinema, with most of them housing 1000 people. Many of these cinemas were architecturally magnificent with stunning interiors. This book tells the story of these cinemas (may now sadly lost) and what Dundonians got up to when they went to the pictures. This book containes first hand information from the generations who enjoyed many an hour in the dark enjoying the big screen.
