In 2021, I presented at three national conferences about Diversity equity and inclusion also compassion healthcare. I presented virtually for the Patient and Family Forum NORD Conference 2021, National Hemophilia Foundation 2021 Bleeding Disorders Conference and the Schwartz Center Compassion in Action Conference in 2021. I was also featured in the national Hemaware Magazine regarding healthcare advocacy work in the bleeding disorders community nationwide for diversity, equity and inclusion. I developed three programs to improve services entitled: The Patchwork Quilt; We are Family and Hear with your Eyes; See with your Heart: Compassionate Healthcare. At the medical University of SC, I volunteer on the Patient and Family Advisory Council and served as co - chair of their DEI PFAC subcommittee. I also serve as a voice on the National Epic Patient and Family Advisory Council for patient portals. Lastly, I am honored to be a national patient and family advisor with PFCCpartners and the PFAnetwork. I am the featured ambassador for the American Hospital Association for South Carolina and was on the radio guest and interviewee on a AHA podcast with Julia Resnick and Libby Hoy. In January 2022, Health Affairs and Alan Weil featured me as panelist to discuss Complex healthcare in which I advocated for Diversity improving in health services. Bloodstream podcast with James Patrick Lynch has completed two programs with me featured as a guest and panelist discussing diversity, equity and inclusion in health practices. I participated in the NHF 2022 Bleeding Disorders Conference and 2022 Nexus Summit Conference for healthcare professionals also the Putting Care at the Center Conference in Sacramento, CA in September telling my rare story and the importance of hearing our diverse voices.
