John Hughes raised two daughters by himself for over ten years, and considers that his best accomplishment. After a checkered career doing all manner of activities, he has settled in at last and been a spiritual care provider in a hospice for 13 years and counting. A meditator, yogi, fan of jazz music and such authors as Jim Harrison, Barry Lopez, Gary Snyder, Bathsheba Demuth, and Angela Carter, John loves to hike, cook, and cultivate the home fires with his partner Mary.
