Fiction. This volume is the third in The Structure of Destruction, Douglas Messerli's exploration of evil in 20th century. However, according to Messerli's introduction, "Letters from Hanusse" was actually written by the enigmatic Joshua Haigh, who sent the manuscript to Messerli without a return address and with the cryptic comment that "I will no longer be living by the time you hold this package in your hands".
