Mauricio Rosencof is a prominent Uruguayan playwright, poet, journalist, and writer of fiction. A former guerrilla leader, he recently served for five years as Director of Culture for Montevideo. Louise B. Popkin is a widely published Boston-based translator with strong ties to Uruguay. Her selection of Mario Benedetti's poetry was shortlisted for the 2013 Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize.
