In this book, we wanted to study the contours of the phenomenon of household savings in Sub-Saharan Africa. We have shown why most households in Africa live from day to day, i.e. why they cannot save to protect themselves against certain contingencies. We have also looked at what types of households save, what is the level of these savings and what are the determinants of these savings, based on a particular case.We have defined the key concepts related to savings, we have presented the field of investigation, we have presented the theories on savings (Typology of savings, Economic analysis of household savings formation) and finally, based on the data of our investigations, we have determined the new and determinants of savings of managers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
