Scheduled tribes are the part and parcel of the Indian population. They were isolated from main stream of the society because of their concentration in remote and inaccessible areas of the India. They are mainly concentrated in hilly tracts of India. The constitution of India has protected their rights by providing them reservation in government jobs and services. The present book deals with the spatial distribution of Population, their literacy level, demographic characteristics, occupational structure and levels of socioeconomic development of tribal population. In spite of constitutional safeguards, Scheduled tribes were lagging behind in respect of social inclusion. Levels of socioeconomic development has been workout of individual scheduled tribe group as well as individual scheduled tribe.
