In Dragons of Romania: Book 1, the ancient Teacher of Dragons, Lumea Veche, and his eager young student, Tanarul, embark from their native Romania on a routine field trip to the greater world of Dragons. The two of them travel the globe, interviewing dozens of their family members, who relate classic dragon fables and legends from their own point of view. The planet's delicate ecology is in a shambles because of human neglect and interference. The polar ice caps are melting at an alarming rate. Then the dragons discover a threat unknown to any human. Beneath the ice caps, the hibernating Sea Dragon, Leviathan, has grown to the length of Ireland. Lumea, Tanarul, and the League of Dragons realize that the Sea Giant's stirring would cause tidal waves that could destroy the worlds of both humans and dragons. They also face the truth that the Dragons cannot solve the problem by themselves. To save the planet, a Dragon/Human Alliance must be formed. Dan Peeler completed his theological education at Brite Divinity School at TCU and is a Children and Family Minister in Dallas. Dan began his career in 1968, producing 22 animated segments for Sesame Street/Children's Television Workshop. With business partner Charlie Rose, Peeler Rose Puppet Shows produced programs and graphics for various national clients, like The Disney Channel, PBS, Warner Bros, and The Learning Channel. Television commercial clients included Six Flags Over Texas, Kellogg's, Dr. Pepper, Pizza Hut, and Frito Lay. In the late '90s, he designed, co-produced, and directed over 50 episodes of the puppet/costume character syndicated series with Bobby Goldsboro, 'Swamp Critters of Lost Lagoon," for PBS and the Learning Channel.
