This inspiring book challenges us to look beyond. Sharon's father suffered through many years of being un-diagnosed until he was diagnosed with Vascular dementia, Alzheimer's and Lewy Body dementia, after many years, as well as going blind after an un-diagnosed stroke. Sharon's mind wanted answers, to explain the ways dementia changes the brain and how caregivers can continue to relate to their loved ones, so as a Naturopath, and a Professional Counsellor with a Bachelor in Behavioural studies of Psychology, Associate Degree in Dementia Care, Dip in Remedial Massage, Infant Massage Instructor and a Life Educator personal carer. Sharon took her father out of the nursing home and cared for him herself. She set about finding those answers to why and what her father endued.Through her experience and qualifications, she stumbled on new information about Hallucinations. All is not what it seems. But she soon realized that, the normal way of caring was not working for him. So as a rose slowly blossoms in the sunlight, so too did her caring knowledge. As you turn the pages, your mind will be illuminated with deeper understanding of person centred caring for people with LBD. Sharon calls this Nirvana healing before heaven- Healing in Palliative care. Putting the puzzle together of understanding her father's LBD episodes and how to care for him better, in a more compassionate and empathetic and healing way, involved looking outside the box. A carer's gift is not about cure, it is about caring, it is about helping the person heal. To do this we need a deeper knowledge. If you want to learn how to navigate the mind field of the unravelling of the human mind and body, as in LBD, that has carried many unhealed traumas, than this is the book for you. .Sharon's vision of her father's suffering led her to see so much more.
