Laurel Lampela é Professora Emerita no Departamento de Arte da Universidade do Novo México. Ensinou Educação Artística na Universidade do Novo México, Universidade Estatal de Cleveland e Universidade Marshall. O seu trabalho criativo envolve a construção de realidades híbridas através de colagens digitais e impressões fotopoliméricas.
