Each letter is addressed to people of his time, among others these include: Alonso Manrique, Archbishop of Seville; Don Jerónimo Vique, Ambassador; Don Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, the Great Captain; and Mosé Puché. They show an overview of the social, political, legal, and religious issues during the reign of Charles V.

Antonio de Guevara (Treceno, entre 1475 y 1481-Mondonedo, 1545) Espana. A los doce anos entro en la Corte de los Reyes Catolicos y en 1504, ingreso en el Convento franciscano de Valladolid. Fue Inquisidor en Toledo y en Valencia y Obispo de Guadi. Acompano a Carlos V en sus viajes por Italia y su campana a Tunez. Fue Predicador y Cronista Oficial y murio siendo obispo de Mondonedo.
