King cobras are apex predators of their ecosystems. In India, they occur in a wide variety of habitats from the foothills of the himalayas to the rain forests of the Western Ghats and Northeast India. Despite such a wide distribution very few scientific studies have been conducted on the king cobra. This book focuses on one study carried out for a period of 6 months to understand the life of this magnificent and charismatic animal. Some of the results of the study are also excerpts from the radio telemetry study of the king cobra by the team at the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS), the one of its kind study in India.
