Could this oversight not explain why an eschatological understanding of faith, one which sees it as a radical, world-changing reality, has been forced to take refuge, often deformed to the point of being unrecognizable, in small "fanatical" groups on the margins of the Christian world?

A native of Philadelphia, Brother John has been a member of the Taize Community since 1974. He spends much of his time speaking about the Bible to participants in the international meetings held in Taize, France. For part of each year he travels to the United States and Italy for meetings and retreats. He has written some ten books on biblical topics translated into a dozen languages.
