"Life on Turkeyneck Hill" will transport you on a nostalgic journey of stories from long ago. They are a collection of columns written for the local newspaper in Martinsville, Indiana. All have been edited or updated to provide clarity. Some stories contain related photos to capture a thousand words. It is my pleasure to share these narratives in book form. This book relays my stories of childhood recollections with additional memories from my siblings while being raised on a working farm. The farm is still owned and operated by our brother Philip and his family. Hopefully, the stories herein will bring a little chuckle, cause you to reminisce, stimulate a conversation, or all three. The lighthearted yet sometimes tongue-in-cheek stories occasionally turn serious. Nevertheless, that is the way of life-- it turns serious when least expected. Most of all, I am honored when you choose my book and read my stories. Thank you. My desire is for you to share them with others and keep hope alive. May you be blessed as you hear my voice chat about "Life on Turkeyneck Hill." Enjoy!

Autorenporträt
Phyllis Dow Bex authored "Life on Turkeyneck Hill: A Memoir." For now, she not only writes in her retirement years, but she spends time traveling, playing golf, pickleball, table games, and generally enjoys relationships with many. Her lifelong search for learning, plus her thirty-five years of selling insurance, allowed her an introduction to colorful personalities. Phyllis is quick-witted and finds humor in most situations.Phyllis enjoys her three adult daughters, and one precious adult granddaughter. Though she is a "Hoosier" from Indiana, Phyllis enjoys winters on Florida's Gulf Coast.
