Hopelessness and depression are elements that indicate that the elderly see this stage as the end even when their physical conditions allow them to develop or consolidate activities that keep them socially inserted. In order to propose a psychoeducational program for the development of life projects in older adults, a descriptive study with a mixed approach was carried out, taking 180 older adults as a sample, after identifying individual, family and social needs that affect the development of life projects. The psychoeducational program was evaluated as relevant, feasible and coherent by experts. In a psychoeducational program for the development of life projects in the elderly, in addition to the necessary information on the subject for the elaboration of these, it is of vital importance to include activities to achieve recognition and acceptance of the limitations of age and the environment where the older adult develops, the reflective experiential techniques are essential toachieve motivation and encourage older adults for the preparation and use of life projects as a quality alternative.
