The objective of this study is to assess the teaching/ learning needs of English language visa-a-vis the prescribed text of the Engineering Undergraduates of Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, India and its ten affiliated colleges. English is a subject offered in the first year of the four years Undergraduate Programme of the Engineering Course. The main purpose of the study is to examine the current English syllabus and its effectiveness in its implementation at the classroom level. It also attempts to find out how language skills along with life skills can be blended for proper utilization in real-life situations.
