On September 3, 2012 my husband of 27 years had an aneurism and went into a comma then die without regaining consciousness on September 24, 2012. I was lost and confused and felt that a vital part of me was gone. A couple of weeks later hurricane Sandy flooded my home and my children and I had to leave. While we were gone my flooded house was robbed. I was angry and felt broken. On March 9, 2013 a friend introduced me to an amazing man who won me over with his gentile calm demeanor, understanding words and his angelic smile. He reminded me to focus on what I have instead of my losses. He helped me to re-channel my thoughts to help cope with all that had happened. In refocusing I started writing poetry of my life experiences and I was able to see the beauty in my life. Kevin and I were married on August 9, 2016 and I am continually inspired by my new focus which is reflection, empowerment, growth, the beauty of art and by embracing my possibilities. Thanks Kevin, I love you.
