About the Author Kimber Hicks was born in California and raised in Georgia. She graduated from both high school and Walker County Technical School of Drafting and Design Technology in 1977. Twenty years later, she graduated from Maryville College in Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and teacher licensure. Kimber grew up loving to read books. Her favorite book was and still is Practically Twins by Viola Rowe. In 1992, she began writing children's stories. Today she lives in North Carolina with her loving cats where she enjoys scrapbooking.
