Lifestyle had an independent association with periodontal health. Periodontal disease is a significant problem, with 70% of adults worldwide having some degree of gingivitis or periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis is a multifactorial disorder, the primary etiology of gingivitis is poor oral hygiene which leads to the accumulation of dental plaque, although, several other local and systemic factors have important modifying roles in its pathogenesis. The present review was done to study the impact of various lifestyle factors along with demographic characteristics and oral health-related behavior on the periodontal health of adults.
