Change is the law of nature and in human society, changes always take place. Sometimes the speed of these changes are slow while at times they are rapid and drastic. All spheres of living things are changing as a result life has always been changing, this change is termed as modernization. Modernization has many denotations and carries a heavy weight and connotations. The term modern refers to follow a new approach, a new outlook; a new attitude for the objects, situations, ideology and people in life. Professor Jacobs (1971) explains "modernization as the maximization of the potential of the society." Modernization is generally regarded as a form of cultural response attributes which are basically universalistic and evolutionary. Modernization is a process of change, change of traditional society in to a society based on science and technology. In simple words, modernization may be termed as a process of transformation of the old traditional society and nation to the modernity in the fields of social, economic, industrial, technological, political, cultural and educational advancements (Patel, 2013). Modernization brings a positive change in the material as well as non-material culture including the way of life. It changes our orthodox behavior, thinking, attitude, understanding and decision making. Industrialization, urbanization, secularization and westernization play a significant role in the process of modernization.
